Ganapathi homam is performed to beget happiness, prosperity and good health. Anyone is desirous of praying to God to remove any obstacles in any of his plan/ work/Business /action and also to be victorious in his deeds can pray to Lord Ganesha. Ganapathi homam can be performed to please Kethu and hence anyone who has Kethu dasa or bhukthi or wishes to appease Kethu can participate in the homam.

Performing Ganapathy Homam once every year gives prosperity, health and wealth. Especially in Kerala &Tamilnadu People Starts All Rituals By Performing Ganapathi Homam.

As per ganesh puran plenty types of ganapathi homam can be done example: Mahaganapathi Homam, Asthadravya Ganapathi Homam, Sahasra modaka Ganapathi Homam, etc…

Before starting any new venture or anything afresh, Ganesh Homam is must. If one is suffering from losses, when starting a new business or investments or when one is getting married, or to remove obstacles or for celebration of your or your child's birthday, Maha Ganpathy Homam is recommended.Ganapati or Ganesha, the Lord of Gananas, the elephant faced God, represents the power of the Supreme Being that removes obstacles and ensures success in human endeavors. Ganesha is revered as the son of the Shiva and Parvati, and is always honored first in most worship services and rituals.Ganesha is also known as Ganapati, Vigneswara, Vinayaka, Gajamukha and Ainkaran. He is worshipped for siddhi, success in undertakings, and buddhi, intelligence. He is worshipped before any venture is started. He is also the God of education, knowledge and wisdom, literature, and the fine arts. Ganesha is also one of the five Gods the worship of whom was popularized by Adi Shankaracharya; the other four are Vishnu, Shiv.. The worship of these five deities is called the pancayatan Homam. In some cases, a sixth God, Skanda is also worshipped

The large head of an elephant symbolizes wisdom, understanding, and a discriminating intellect that one must possess to attain perfection in life. The wide mouth represents the natural human desire to enjoy life in the world. The large ears signify that a perfect person is the one who possesses a great capacity to listen to others and assimilate ideas. The trunk relates to the power of human mind, which must be strong enough to face the ups and downs of the external world and yet delicate enough to explore the subtle realms of the inner world. The two tusks denote the two aspects of the human personality, wisdom and emotion. The right tusk represents wisdom left tusk represents emotion. The broken left tusk conveys the idea that one must conquer emotions with wisdom to attain perfection.

Performing Ganapathy Homam once every year gives prosperity, health and wealth. If any one is running Ketu dasa or bhukti or there is some dosha of Ketu in the horoscope, he shall perform Ganapathy Homam and get-relief. Ganapathy Homam should be performed in the early morning and Poornahuthi to be offered during sunrise, unless any other time is specifically mentioned to suit the particular purpose. Normally, only Vedic ways of Homams are performed

Maha Mruthyunjaya Homam

Maha Mruthyunjaya Homam is dedicated to Lord Shiva to avoid untimely death. The Mruthyunjaya Homam is performed to achieve Jaya or Victory over Mritya or death. The object of worship of this homa is Lord Shiva. One of the synonyms of Lord Shiva is Mrityu. Mrityu which means death of the death or the destroyer of death. During this homa one chants 21 mantras.

The prominent offerings in this homa are durva grass and an herb called amrita.

Other offerings sesame, Karuka leaves, milk, and palpayasam

Durva grass is famous for purifying blood and Amrita is used as a medicine, it is believed that this homam bestows longevity on the performer. The hymns are devoted curable diseases like arbuda or cancer. Since these are used as offerings in this homa to Mrityu, the God of death, praying for long life. These hymns are used in the purnahuti or the final offering in the famous Soma sacrifice. This homa also alleviates Mrityu dosha or untimely death.Dedicated to Lord Shiva to avoid untimely death The Mrityunjaya Homa is performed to achieve Jaya or Victory over Mritya or death.

Maha Mrityunjaya homam is perhaps one of the most effective spiritual way - the spiritual process of healing - to survive and rejuvenates a man or  woman who is under a life threat and fighting against death. Maha Mrityunjaya homam is said to be  thousands of years old spiritual process which is done by invoking Lord Shiva in the form of MAHAKAAL OR MAHAKAL - the ultimate and primordial force of the universe who is believed to be capable of reducing (or even removing) the process of death and can rejuvenate the man who is fighting against death. This is the great Homam where the fire - which is lighted up for homam - is not completely extinguished within next 24 hours and the puja is held for 4 Prahars i.e. every 6 hours interval. After the date this Homa puja held, every Monday for next 2 months the Maha Mrityunjaya Puja is held for the diseased person or for the person who is facing untimely death like a victim of accident etc. Chances of death is believed to removed or reduced by this Maha mrityunjay homa Therefore, it is also done for those persons who anticipate his or her untimely death by any means. It is also believed to remove the the fear of death. This is done to get rid of prolonged sickness. Especially for those who are struggling on their death bed.

Maha Mrintyunjay Homam is invariably associated with Maha Mrityunjay Mantras. This  is said to protect the man against accidents, any kind  of  misfortune, fears of death etc. who chants this Mantra PROPERLY with full devotion.   By having done this Great Homam and by chanting this great Mantra one is believed to get Moksha ( liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth).
